Word for the Web Integration

Our integration with Microsoft Word for the Web enables you to streamline two key workflows within Rally without ever leaving your browser.

  1. Updating Word document Templates
  2. Editing generated documents after questionnaires are submitted

Update Template Word Documents

Once you have taken the first steps to create your templateyou can edit the Word document template by clicking "Open in Word for the web".

A new tab will open and prompt you to log in using your Microsoft Business 365 account if you're not already logged in.

You can then make changes to your template and any revisions will be automatically saved to Rally.

Editing automated documents after questionnaires are submitted

After a questionnaire is submitted and the documents are automatically generated, you can edit the document by opening in Word for the Web.

Simply select the document you want to edit from the Matter Files section.

Then click "Open with Word for the Web". A new tab will open and prompt you to log in using your Microsoft Business 365 account if you're not already logged in.

You can then make revisions to your document and any changes will be auto-saved back to the Matter Workspace within a few minutes. No need to take any further action.

Collaborate with clients on shared documents

Once you have shared a matter workspace, your clients will then have access to the Word for the Web Integration (except they don't need to login to any Microsoft account). If you both open the same document in Word for the Web, you can see each other in the document editing and making changes. This can make for a great collaboration process when finalizing any documents.

Clients can also use the feature on their own to make any tweaks to templates you have shared for them to use on their own.
